Share the Road

We haven't seen that "Share the Road" street sign here in Honduras--the sign that in the USA carries the symbol of a bicycle and tells us bike riders have the right to be on the road too. If Honduras had such signs, they would be crowded with symbols of bicycle riders and much more. Pedestrians, motor scooters, slow three-wheeled vehicles, and horse-driven carts have rights on the two lane road we traveled yesterday, along with cars, vans, and trucks passing at high speed. It all seems workable for them.

Our passage through three airports went very smoothly yesterday. On this trip, in contrast to some previous ones, we all got on board with time to spare, no one's personal luggage went astray, and all containers of supplies for Open Door Ministries arrived without hassles at the San Pedro Sula airport. Also in contrast to some previous trips, the van ride from the airport was mostly quiet. It seems the 2:45 a.m. gathering at the St. John's parking lot was having an impact on some normally loquacious team members.

Later this morning we'll join the children to worship the same Lord that our families and friends back home are worshiping this weekend. And even though the service here will look different than our services in Missouri, it's the same Lord. We're sharing the road on The Way, as Christianity was filled called in the Bible, with the folks at ODM. It's all workable.

"Thank you!" to all those who worked to help get us here. You're sharing the road too.
